This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using the Learnr platform. It applies to all users across all 6 roles: Principal, Administrator, Finance Officer, Teacher, Parent and Student.
Using Learnr means you agree to this policy. Schools are responsible for ensuring all their users — including staff, parents and learners — are aware of and comply with these rules.
All users of Learnr must:
All users must not:
As a principal, you are responsible for oversight of how your school uses Learnr. Ensure only authorised staff have access. Review at-risk learner reports in a timely manner. Do not use the platform to communicate anything discriminatory, defamatory or threatening toward any learner, parent or staff member.
You have the highest level of data access in the school. Only create accounts for actual enrolled learners, active staff and verified parents. Remove access immediately when a staff member leaves. Obtain and keep signed parent consent forms before adding learner data.
Only approve or reject payments based on actual verified proof of payment. Never attempt to alter financial records — all transactions are permanent and auditable by design. Do not share fee account information with anyone other than the parent or guardian of the learner concerned.
Only take attendance, capture marks and set homework for your assigned classes. Capture marks accurately. Only log behaviour records for events you directly observed or have reliable knowledge of. Do not post notices or homework containing offensive or inappropriate content. Do not contact parents or learners through the platform for personal reasons.
You access information about your child only. If you can see another learner's data, report it immediately. Do not share screenshots of your child's records publicly or on social media. Use communication features respectfully — messages must be professional and appropriate.
Do not attempt to access another student's account or records. Do not share your login credentials with other students. Use the platform's features for their intended educational purpose. Understand that your attendance, marks and behaviour records are visible to your parents and school staff — this is by design.
All content posted on Learnr — notices, homework descriptions, behaviour record notes, staff messages — must be factually accurate, professional and appropriate for a school environment. Content must not contain hate speech, discrimination, offensive language or personal attacks on any individual.
Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or permanent removal of platform access, reporting to the school governing body, or in serious cases, referral to law enforcement or the Information Regulator. Staff may face disciplinary action. Learners may face action under the school's code of conduct.
Report violations to your school administrator for school-level issues, or to hello@learnr.co.za for platform-level issues. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
CronKode (Pty) Ltd may update this AUP from time to time. Schools will be notified of material changes. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance.
